The magnetic and non-magnetic metal scan function: When the LCD screen displays an "X", it means a non-magnetic metal is detected, and the stud finder can detect non-magnetic metal up to 60mm. When the LCD screen displays no "X", it means a magnetic metal is detected, and the stud finder can detect magnetic metal up to 80mm.

The Wire Warning detection indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wiring up to 2 inches (51 mm) deep. For safety, in all modes, this wall scanner always detects and indicates the live AC wire. The Wire Warning Detection Icon will flash when live, unshielded wires are detected.
